Giants Causeway And Sightseeing Tour

Visit the world famous Giant’s Causeway, steeped in legend and myth. The Antim Coast Road is full of lots of little hidden gems. The many towns and villages which hug the coastline, such as Ballygally, Glenarm, Carnlough, Cushendall, before stopping off at Cushendun Caves, one of many filming sites from the famous Game Of Thrones series.

Ballycastle, the next stop, famous for the (‘Aul Lamas Fair and Yellowman‘).

We then start to climb uphill before stopping at Portaneevy Viewpoint, to take in the sights of Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge. Whilst here, you can make a decision if you are brave enough to cross it. You can get your breath back as we drive down the winding road which leads us to the quaint little harbour, at Ballintoy, again a filming location for Game Of Thrones fans.

Next stop the Giants Causeway, where you can explore the famous hexagonal shaped stones ,as they make their way out into the crashing waves, the result of millions of years of geology or the work of a Giant, you can decide which

After the Giant’s Causeway we make our way to Magheracross Viewpoint to take in the stunning ruins of Dunluce Castle.  At certain times of the year the Northern Lights are visible from this part of the north coast, which makes for some stunning photographs of the castle.

And to top your trip off, finish the day at The Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest licensed whiskey distillery, either take a tour or just sample the best whiskey in the world, although we are slightly biased and quite protective of our whiskey in these parts.

4 Hour Belfast City Tour

Explore the city of Belfast steeped in history and sometimes known for it’s troubled past. Visit the famous cranes  of Harland and Wolf, Belfast’s shipyard, the cranes known affectionately as Samson and Goliath, synonymous with Belfast’s skyline. The shipyard that built the Titanic. For those of you interested in Belfast’s shipbuilding and maritime history a visit to the Titanic Museum is a must do on your visit.

We then take a drive to Parliament Buildings at Stormont, a stunning building set in equally stunning parkland. As we drive back towards the city we will stop by the family homes of two of Belfast’s famous sons, Van Morrison and George Best. We then reach the leafy avenues and streets of the Malone Road, an affluent area of South Belfast, before stopping at Queens University, opened by Queen Victoria, a stunning building a mixture of Tudor and Gothic architectural styles.

After stopping at Queens University, we go to Carrickfergus Castle, dating back to the 12th century, one of the best examples of a preserved castle to be found on these shores. A quick stop at Andrew Jacksons cottage and the US Army Rangers Museum, before heading back toward the city stopping at Belfast Castle, which nestles into Cave Hill, set in Cavehill Country Park, providing a great view of Belfast and beyond., As we make our way back towards the city centre, we visit the districts of the Shankill and Falls, hearing an account of some of the horiffic incidents which used to plague our city. The many murals which adorn the walls in these neighbourhoods provide a visual reminder of what this city used to like. We then end our tour at Belfast City Hall, my favourite building in the city, the grounds also being the location for the Titanic Memorial. Guests can then make their way to the many shops, bars and restaurants in the vicinity and continue exploring our city.

2Hour Belfast Political Tour

It is well known that this little part of the world had a very troubled past. Thankfully things are improving but not as quick as some of us expected. Many scars still remain within this battered and bruised city. This tour will take you around the Shankill and Falls districts of the city, and through the peace lines, where your guide will give you an account of some of the incidents which took place, explaining the many wall murals that adorn the gable end terraced houses, in these tight knit streets. The significance and meaning of these murals will be explained as you walk among the streets, trying to get a feeling of what life was like during the bad old days. The conflict is still very raw and still very real to many people in our society today, as they struggle to come to terms with the deaths of their loved ones, family and friends. You will find yourself finding it very hard to comprehend what this place used to be like. Let’s hope one day this place can return to being a peaceful and prosperous place for all of us.

Finish your day in Newcastle at the foot of the Moune Mountains, with a glass of wine or a pint of Guinness as you think to yourself,

“Wouldn’t It Be Great If It Was Like This All The Time”.

What Our Clients Say About Us

Eddie is absolutely incredible! We traveled to Belfast for the first part of our honeymoon. Because we had limited time, we wanted to “create our own adventure” tour that included some Game of Thrones sites, Giants Causeway, and a political history tour of Northern Ireland. Enter Eddie’s Taxi Tours!!! First, if you’re going to Northern Ireland, you must do the political tour. I still have chills thinking about it. Eddie even offered recommendations for additional reading/books, which we picked up in the airport. In addition to the political tour, Eddie gave us the best experience seeing all of the other sites and it was the best overall tour we have ever been on! 10/10 recommend him and we can’t wait to come back for part 2!

This is quite possibly the most informative and educational tour I have ever been on ever. Eddie is extremely knowledgeable about the political history and current culture and fragile peace process in place in Northern Ireland. The tour took around 2hrs and included stops at various locations important to the understanding of the “Troubles” on both sides of the Peace wall and shows the country’s political connections to other nations and states and the problems in their history of political turmoil. Eddie is an extremely nice and pleasant person with a vast knowledge to tap into, I can’t recommend his service any higher

We had a wonderful tour with Eddie. He met us early and took us to Glen’s Waterfall, the Rope Bridge, the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle, the Bushmill Distillery, and a filming site for GOT. Plus we ended at the Titanic Museum. It was an incredible day and we would highly recommend this experience!

We did two tours with Eddie and they were both interesting and informative. Eddie has great local and historical knowledge. We did the Political cab tour then the next morning Eddie took us to many landmarks including Stormont, Hillsborough Castle and local city sights. These were on an extremely wet day so a good way to see them without getting wet. We will definitely contact Eddie for future tours when we return to Belfast.
