Giants Causeway And Sightseeing Tour
Visit the world famous Giant’s Causeway, steeped in legend and myth. The Antim Coast Road is full of lots of little hidden gems. The many towns and villages which hug the coastline, such as Ballygally, Glenarm, Carnlough, Cushendall, before stopping off at Cushendun Caves, one of many filming sites from the famous Game Of Thrones series.
Ballycastle, the next stop, famous for the (‘Aul Lamas Fair and Yellowman‘).
We then start to climb uphill before stopping at Portaneevy Viewpoint, to take in the sights of Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge. Whilst here, you can make a decision if you are brave enough to cross it. You can get your breath back as we drive down the winding road which leads us to the quaint little harbour, at Ballintoy, again a filming location for Game Of Thrones fans.
Next stop the Giants Causeway, where you can explore the famous hexagonal shaped stones ,as they make their way out into the crashing waves, the result of millions of years of geology or the work of a Giant, you can decide which
After the Giant’s Causeway we make our way to Magheracross Viewpoint to take in the stunning ruins of Dunluce Castle. At certain times of the year the Northern Lights are visible from this part of the north coast, which makes for some stunning photographs of the castle.
And to top your trip off, finish the day at The Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest licensed whiskey distillery, either take a tour or just sample the best whiskey in the world, although we are slightly biased and quite protective of our whiskey in these parts.
4 Hour Belfast City Tour
Explore the city of Belfast steeped in history and sometimes known for it’s troubled past. Visit the famous cranes of Harland and Wolf, Belfast’s shipyard, the cranes known affectionately as Samson and Goliath, synonymous with Belfast’s skyline. The shipyard that built the Titanic. For those of you interested in Belfast’s shipbuilding and maritime history a visit to the Titanic Museum is a must do on your visit.
We then take a drive to Parliament Buildings at Stormont, a stunning building set in equally stunning parkland. As we drive back towards the city we will stop by the family homes of two of Belfast’s famous sons, Van Morrison and George Best. We then reach the leafy avenues and streets of the Malone Road, an affluent area of South Belfast, before stopping at Queens University, opened by Queen Victoria, a stunning building a mixture of Tudor and Gothic architectural styles.
After stopping at Queens University, we go to Carrickfergus Castle, dating back to the 12th century, one of the best examples of a preserved castle to be found on these shores. A quick stop at Andrew Jacksons cottage and the US Army Rangers Museum, before heading back toward the city stopping at Belfast Castle, which nestles into Cave Hill, set in Cavehill Country Park, providing a great view of Belfast and beyond., As we make our way back towards the city centre, we visit the districts of the Shankill and Falls, hearing an account of some of the horiffic incidents which used to plague our city. The many murals which adorn the walls in these neighbourhoods provide a visual reminder of what this city used to like. We then end our tour at Belfast City Hall, my favourite building in the city, the grounds also being the location for the Titanic Memorial. Guests can then make their way to the many shops, bars and restaurants in the vicinity and continue exploring our city.
2Hour Belfast Political Tour
It is well known that this little part of the world had a very troubled past. Thankfully things are improving but not as quick as some of us expected. Many scars still remain within this battered and bruised city. This tour will take you around the Shankill and Falls districts of the city, and through the peace lines, where your guide will give you an account of some of the incidents which took place, explaining the many wall murals that adorn the gable end terraced houses, in these tight knit streets. The significance and meaning of these murals will be explained as you walk among the streets, trying to get a feeling of what life was like during the bad old days. The conflict is still very raw and still very real to many people in our society today, as they struggle to come to terms with the deaths of their loved ones, family and friends. You will find yourself finding it very hard to comprehend what this place used to be like. Let’s hope one day this place can return to being a peaceful and prosperous place for all of us.
